My philosophy is “Little girls should look like little girls”.
I created Key Lime Kids, Inc. because I was constantly disappointed in going to the stores only to find “age-inappropriate “ and poor quality clothes for toddlers and little girls. Frustrated, I made a pretty little sundress for my 3-year old daughter. The first time she wore the dress, my daughter and I were stopped three times by people commenting on how cute the dress looked. The second time she wore it, I actually recieved several requests (by complete strangers) to make the dress (and they’d pay me too!) My husband said to me, “Vic, I think you’re on to something!!” That same week Key Lime Kids, Inc. was born.
Key Lime Kids, Inc. is based out of my home studio in Sewall’s Point, Florida.
This simple dress is a take on the pillowcase-style dress, but I use a single oversized satin ribbon that ties at the neck and each dress is stitched with French Seams for durability and a more finished look.
This versatile dress can also be used as a tunic as your child grows and looks great paired with jeans, leggings or shorts. In cooler weather just layer a long sleeve t-shirt or turtleneck underneath. Your little one can wear this for many years!
I use fabrics that are modern and fresh such as paisley’s, damasks and retro florals, but I use classic polka dots, checks and solids, as well.
I also offer the dress customized with hand painted art by local artist, Kathy Ammendolia. She is well known for painting children’s pillowcases and illustrations in books and stationery products.
Please contact me with any questions regarding sizing, fabrics or ribbon colors.
I hope your Key Lime Kid enjoys these dresses as much as I enjoy making them.
